The images of the profiles show the situation before and after mentoplasty combined with rhinoplasty. The facial profile shows a prominent chin which called for reductive mentoplasty to lessen the chin’s protrusion, harmonizing it with the facial contours. 

The double intervention of rhinoplasty and mentoplasty was performed in one session, reducing operative stress and postoperative recovery period, which was substantially the same for both interventions. The patient in the left mage shows a prominent chin which was corrected by simply removing fatty tissue found between the muscles and the bony part of the chin.

This resolutive mentoplasty managed to reduce the jutting of the chin, without working on the bony part, which would have entailed a more intricate and complex intervention. The final result of reductive mentoplasty evidences a harmony between the chin and the nose, giving the profile a harmonious look on the whole. (image on the right).

The image study lessened the risk of incurring the error of reducing the nose excessively, in a face with strongly pronounced contours. Though minimum, the correction gave a more harmonic expression making the nose tip very similar to the chin, which on the whole also looks smaller.
